Typically we always get asked how many hours can we run for during a power failure, and last year in November somebody asked, ‘if the grid goes off how long could you run?’ I replied, probably till June/July next year. And then the penny suddenly dropped, that it’s not the amount of hours it’s the amount of months that we can run if the grid is down.
Cape Town has an average of 300 sunny days a year. During this time we can run continuously without power from the grid. If its cloudy in some cases we will have sufficient power to get you through the next day as well.
